The head of the 22nd branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Kermashan, Akram Salih, confirmed his escape from a terrorist attack and called for relevant authorities to investigate the incident. During a press conference following the explosion that targeted his vehicle this Monday morning, Salih stated that the explosion of his vehicle was a terrorist act, executed by placing a bomb underneath it, and urged security forces to investigate the incident.
He added that he, his driver, and a Peshmerga member sustained minor injuries in the attack, while his car was completely destroyed. He called for a thorough investigation and urged security agencies to review the cameras, adding, "Because we are here, they are responsible for these borders, and we are waiting for the investigation results through the cameras so that we can reach a conclusion and identify the suspects in this terrorist act."
He continued, "We have no personal issues, and we await the results of the security forces' investigation." He remarked, "The operation was significant and could not be carried out by amateurs because the bomb was attached beneath the vehicle’s frame near my seat." He believes he was monitored before the incident, explaining, "Because my car was initially in the yard, then the driver took it out, it was rigged, and then detonated from a distance."
