The spokesperson for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), James Elder, stated today, Saturday, that it is not normal for children in the Gaza Strip to live in "constant terror due to Israeli bombardment.” Elder added, speaking to Anadolu Agency, that "the situation in Gaza is getting worse for children day by day, amidst the rising heat and families crowding into tents on the sand.”
Regarding the implications of forced displacement in the city of Rafah, southern Gaza, Elder said, "There are 3,000 children whom we were providing with emergency food assistance, and now we do not know their whereabouts.” He clarified that "with the continuing restrictions on the entry of aid, after more than 250 days of war on Gaza, the people of Gaza are facing severe difficulties in obtaining food for their children.”
