ABC News reported, citing a U.S. official, that Israeli missiles targeted a site in Isfahan, central Iran, coinciding with explosions heard in both Syria and Iraq. U.S. officials stated that Israeli missiles struck a location in Iran, although they could not confirm reports of attacks in Iraq and Syria. CNN also reported that Israel carried out a strike inside Iran, warning that this could escalate regional conflict, noting that the target was not nuclear.
Iran, for its part, denied that Isfahan was hit by missile attacks, claiming to have intercepted several drones. The spokesperson for the Iranian space agency stated that multiple small drones were successfully shot down by the country’s air defenses, indicating that the attack originated from outside Iranian territory.
Sources from the Fars News Agency noted that three explosions were heard near an army base northwest of Isfahan. The Iran International news outlet reported multiple explosions in Isfahan, particularly in the Shahin Shahr area near the Natanz reactor. An Iranian official confirmed that the explosions were a result of the activation of Iranian air defense systems, adding that "no missile attack was launched against Iran." The Iranian National Security Council emphasized that no external missile attack had taken place.
Media reports indicated that residents in the Zardanjan area of Isfahan heard numerous explosions at 4:30 a.m. near the nuclear facility, as Iranian air defenses attempted to repel the attack.
### State of Alert and Airspace Closure
Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced the highest state of alert across all its bases and camps throughout Iran, as the Iranian Supreme National Security Council convened to discuss the attack on Isfahan. Iranian media reported that authorities ordered the closure of Iranian airspace and suspended flights at airports in Tehran, Isfahan, and several other airports in the country.
### Targeting Sites in Syria
A military source in Syria reported that Israel targeted Syrian air defense sites in the southern region with missiles launched from northern Palestine, confirming material losses. Local media indicated that explosions were heard south of Al-Suwayda province due to Israeli airstrikes. The Suwayda 24 news site confirmed that initial information suggested fighter jets carried out airstrikes on military sites between the provinces of Daraa and Al-Suwayda. According to media sources, an airstrike targeted a radar battalion of the Syrian army between the Qirfa and Izra areas in eastern Daraa, resulting in material damage. There was no confirmation of bombings at the Tha'lah military airport in the western countryside of Al-Suwayda, despite explosions being heard in the area, as reported by Suwayda 24. Iraqi media also noted increased flights of warplanes over Erbil and Mosul, but it was unclear if any explosions occurred.
### New Iranian Warning
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian warned that Iran would respond more forcefully to what he described as "any miscalculation" by Israel. He affirmed that in the case of any use of force and aggression against Iranian interests, Tehran would not hesitate to respond immediately, decisively, and powerfully, ensuring that Israel would regret it completely. He clarified that this decision was non-negotiable. Additionally, the commander of security and protection for Iranian nuclear facilities, Brigadier General Ahmad Haq Talab, stated that the armed forces were fully prepared, adding, "We have the necessary information on the enemy's nuclear sites and have identified all existing targets."
