The Cabinet will hold two sessions tomorrow, the first at 10 AM to discuss a regular agenda, and the second at 3:30 PM to begin discussing the draft law for the 2024 budget. The agenda includes 27 items, some of which were previously distributed to ministers and have been revised in the new agenda. This includes a study by Minister Saada Shami regarding government building rentals, and a presentation by Minister of Displaced Persons Issam Sharafeddine about border control and combating illegal crossings by Syrian displaced persons. Additionally, Minister Abdullah Bou Habib will present on the agreements between Lebanon and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees concerning data provision to the General Security regarding individuals coming from Syria.
Moreover, the Ministry of Energy seeks approval to renew the agreement with Iraq regarding the supply of an additional quantity of crude oil (1.5 million metric tons), along with financial and administrative matters, and the signing of decrees on behalf of the President of the Republic. There will also be a presentation by the Ministry of Finance regarding the adoption of the Bloomberg trading platform in financial markets.
New items have been added to items 24, 25, 26, and 27, and documents related to the new items and revised schedules will be distributed to ministers. These relate to the transfer of allocations to certain ministries and administrations based on the twelfth principle, acceptance of donations from external sources for various departments and ministries, the issuance of decrees on behalf of the President regarding the operation of temporary sanitary landfills and street cleaning, and the issuance of decrees on behalf of the President concerning employment matters and other topics. The second session is dedicated to discussing the draft budget for the year 2024.
