The Civil Defense Directorate in Iraq announced today, Sunday, that it has succeeded in extinguishing a fire that broke out in a raw material warehouse in southern Baghdad. The directorate stated in a statement that "Civil Defense personnel in Baghdad Karkh extinguished a fire that erupted inside a house used as a storage for raw materials involved in foam production in the Dora area, south of the capital Baghdad." It added that "our teams saved neighboring houses from the incident and completed the extinguishing and cooling operations without recording any human casualties, and an investigation has been opened in preparation for holding accountable those responsible who have turned residential homes into warehouses for their goods."
