The new British government announced today, Monday, that it is resuming talks aimed at reaching free trade agreements with India and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The government stated in a statement that "resuming talks is the first step towards agreeing on high-quality trade deals that the UK needs to empower businesses to enter international markets, create jobs, and achieve growth." The Ministry of Trade noted that "the first round of negotiations under the new government is expected to take place in the fall and will include new talks with Israel, South Korea, Switzerland, and Turkey."
