Russian media has released footage of a Sukhoi Su-34 fighter jet flying over Ukraine, where it dropped the Russian "FAB-3000" bomb, also known as the "Doomsday" bomb. Russia has begun large-scale production of the massive and highly explosive "FAB-3000" bombs. This bomb weighs approximately 3 tons and can be compared to tactical nuclear bombs.
The "FAB-3000" bomb, equipped with wings, is released from the air towards its target and rotates 180 degrees after falling to correct its glide. Upon impact with the target, it causes extensive damage to fortifications and infrastructure. The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on March 22 that it had commenced large-scale production of the high-explosive aerial bombs "FAB-3000." At that time, former Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu inspected the execution of the Ministry's orders at military-industrial complex facilities in Nizhny Novgorod.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated in a statement that since February of this year, the expanded production of the high-explosive "FAB-3000" bombs has been organized.
