UNIFIL: Our Families Must Leave Lebanon

Today, Thursday, UNIFIL spokesperson Andrea Tenenti reported that the families of UNIFIL personnel must leave Lebanon. Andrea Tenenti added that "a request in this regard was made by the United Nations according to an order issued back in May, due to the escalating tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border." He noted that many families have already left the country, but some remained in Beirut where the situation had been relatively calm; however, they are now addressed by the new measure. He clarified that "this measure is temporary and is expected to last at least until the end of August and cannot be described as an evacuation, but merely a relocation."
