The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division reported that "as part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to pursue those involved in armed robbery operations in various Lebanese regions and arrest them, information was received regarding an unknown individual luring workers to remote locations under the pretext of securing jobs, and then robbing them at gunpoint."
In a statement, it noted that "following this, the relevant units began their field and investigative procedures to uncover his identity and apprehend him. As a result of intensive investigations and inquiries, the Information Branch was able to identify him as F. R. (born in 1992, Lebanese), who had an outstanding search and arrest warrant for robbery."
The directorate added, "After careful surveillance and monitoring, one of the branch patrols arrested him in a well-planned ambush in the Ain Hala area, in Aley, while he was riding an unlicensed 'Jok' motorcycle that was seized. During the interrogation, he confessed to the charges against him regarding the execution of five armed robbery operations involving young men in the areas of Aley and Ain Jdideh, after luring them under the pretext of securing jobs for them."
Legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the competent authority based on judicial instructions.
