The police command of Babil province in Iraq announced today, Tuesday, that river police patrols recovered the bodies of two drowning victims from the Al-Hillah River in the Al-Bu Alwan area of the Al-Mahawil district. In a statement, the police said, "The incident resulted from the capsizing of a boat (shakhtour) they were riding while trying to cross the Al-Hillah River from the Al-Bu Alwan area to the opposite bank in the Al-Nukhaila area." It was confirmed that "the victims were engineers from Baghdad, working for the Oil Projects Company under the Baghdad Projects Authority." The police added that "the necessary legal procedures have been taken at the relevant police station."
