Democratic Delegate: We Will Make a Decision on Biden for America's Sake

Amid rising voices in the American Democratic Party calling for President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race after his performance, described as "disastrous," in the debate with his Republican rival, Donald Trump, last week, a party delegate confirmed that they would make a decision regarding the occupant of the White House for the sake of America.

A Democratic delegate stated, "We will have to make a decision regarding Biden in the interest of America," adding, "We can make a decision within two to three weeks," according to Axios. The delegates at the Democratic National Convention will also wait as long as possible before deciding whether Biden should lead their party, according to party delegates.

For his part, the Chair of the Democratic Party in Texas, Gilberto Hinojosa, said, "We are still waiting to hear what Biden will do; we need to feel that we can win this election. Our national Democratic leadership also needs to decide what is ultimately best for America and this world."

President Joe Biden pledged on Wednesday to continue his run for re-election, rejecting the growing pressure from Democrats to withdraw following a disastrous debate performance against Republican candidate Donald Trump that raised questions about his readiness to continue in the race and hold the presidency.

Biden said in a call with his re-election campaign staff, according to one of his senior aides via the social media platform X: "I am a candidate. I am the leader of the Democratic Party. No one is pushing me to leave." This comes after senior Democratic lawmakers expressed deep concern over President Biden’s poor performance during his debate against former rival Donald Trump.
