Iran's Acting Foreign Minister, Ali Baqeri Kani, emphasized during a UN Security Council session on the Middle East that "the occupation continues its crimes against the Palestinians." He warned against "any adventurous act by the rogue Zionist regime." Baqeri Kani confirmed that "any reckless action by the Zionist enemy against Lebanon will be met with a decisive response from countries in the region and the world," noting that "Israel is an occupying state, not a legitimate state, even if the occupation continues for decades." He pointed out that "the Council's inaction has emboldened Israel to commit more crimes against the oppressed Palestinian people," stating that "the responsibility of the United States is even heavier in the crimes of occupation due to its use of the veto 50 times." Baqeri Kani urged the Security Council to take the necessary measures to protect Gaza, including actions under Chapter VII, and indicated that "the Security Council should halt the war on Gaza and stop the displacement of Palestinians." He added, "The Zionist regime must withdraw from the occupied Palestinian and Lebanese territories," asserting that "the Israeli Zionist regime has always been the main source of threat to security and peace in the region."
