With humanitarian messages that challenge all kinds of life's difficulties, and from the depths of pain arises a part of hope, the third edition of the International Hope Cinema Festival launched today in the spirit of the European Union for the year 2023. The festival, founded by Fadi Alound, has chosen the Principality of Monaco and Monte Carlo as its venue. The participating films will be showcased in the Monaco 2 cinema and theater, which will host the opening ceremony, attended by various Arab and foreign figures, including representatives from the Principality of Monaco, as well as Arab and foreign artists. The films carry themes of compassion and humanity, lighting up the golden screen of the International Hope Cinema Festival.
Participating countries in the festival include France, Spain, Poland, Mexico, Canada, the United States, Egypt, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Australia, Denmark, and New Zealand. American-French star Marielle Mulligan will host the events of the International Hope Cinema Festival, and she will wear a dress designed by Tunisian-French fashion designer Dalinda Ghoul at the opening ceremony.
Also attending the opening will be Senegalese artist and painter Abdoulaye Sidi, who defied disability and created remarkable art with his feet, proving to the world at the Cannes Film Festival that he is a unique and distinguished case, receiving warm acknowledgment and welcome from stars worldwide.
During its third edition, the International Hope Cinema Festival will honor actress Nour El Sherif for her role in the film “Tout Tout,” actress Elham Shaheen for her role in the film “Cholesterol-Free,” artist and painter Abdoulaye Sidi, blind Belgian artist Lou Polon, as well as honor several personalities who will not be present in person but will appear on screen, including Saudi Arabia’s Mariam Meryaso, Jordan’s Lamar Abu Ghosh, and Palestinian Kamel Al-Ladawi.
