Yemeni Foreign Minister and Expatriate Affairs Minister, Sha'if al-Zandani, praised the positions of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) towards Yemen, its support for the Presidential Leadership Council, and its provision of developmental, relief, and humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people. This came during a meeting yesterday between the Yemeni minister and the head of the GCC mission to Yemen, Sirhan al-Munikhir. According to the Yemeni news agency, the two sides discussed the relations between Yemen and the GCC, ways to enhance them on various levels, and the importance of activating the technical committee emerging from the joint higher committee to identify the developmental needs of Yemen.
In a separate context, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced yesterday that its forces successfully destroyed two radar sites in areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen and two unmanned boats in the Red Sea during the past 24 hours. To deter the Houthis, U.S. and British forces have been conducting strikes against their positions in mainland Yemen since January 12. The U.S. military occasionally conducts strikes against missile and drone sites it claims are Houthi launch bases.
