"Unforgivable Mistake": Olympic Scandal Involving South Korea!

South Korea expressed its displeasure after its sports delegation was mistakenly introduced as the North Korean delegation during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris on Friday. Officials demanded assurances from the event organizers to prevent such an error from happening again. As the boat carrying the South Korean athletes passed on the Seine River, the announcer introduced them as representatives of the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea," which is the official name for North Korea. The same introduction was used for the North Korean delegation's boat.

The South Korean Ministry of Sports and Culture issued a statement indicating that Deputy Minister of Sports and Culture Jang Mi-ran, who was in Paris, requested a meeting with International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. It is worth noting that the official name of South Korea is "Republic of Korea," while the official name for North Korea is the "Democratic People's Republic of Korea."
