Al Jazeera correspondent in Gaza, Ismail Al-Ghoul, and his accompanying photographer, Rami Al-Rifi, were killed due to Israeli shelling near the home of the political bureau chief of the Palestinian resistance movement, Ismail Haniya, in the Shati refugee camp. The International Federation of Journalists stated, "After the killing of journalists Ismail Al-Ghoul and Rami Al-Rifi, how long will the killing of journalists in Gaza continue?" They added, "These crimes against media personnel in Gaza must stop immediately." They emphasized that "the sooner the International Criminal Court investigates the killing of journalists, the better." Additionally, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard confirmed in a statement today that "the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran will be met with a harsh and painful response."
