Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced in a speech on Tuesday evening, after the conclusion of the Turkish government meeting, that "Ankara knows how to break the dirty hands that reach for our flag." He added that they "also know how to break those that extend to the oppressed refugees in our country." He confirmed that "the Turkish presence in northern Syria ensures that no statelet or terrorist corridor is established at our borders," pointing out that "it is an honor for us to be supporters of our Syrian brothers who have sought refuge with us." He emphasized, "We will not allow anyone to harm those who have come to us seeking our protection. Those Syrians who wish to return voluntarily will be returned to their country. We need peace, diplomacy, and dialogue with neighboring countries."
