Three wolves attacked a 37-year-old woman, leaving her fighting for her life at a zoo near Paris. An informed source and local prosecutors reported that the woman "suffered bites to the neck, leg, and back" during the tragic incident at the Thoiry Zoo, located about 40 kilometers west of the French capital. Versailles prosecutor Marivonne Caylibot stated that the woman's life is in danger.
It is believed that the woman went for a run alone after spending time with her family at a safari-style lodge within the zoo. The lodge, situated in the wolf area, promises "silence, comfort, and seclusion," according to the zoo's advertisements, which claim it provides a "unique and very intimate experience with Arctic wolves, which can be viewed from the living room." However, Caylibot noted that "the woman ended up in the safari area that is supposed to be restricted to vehicles. That is where she was attacked by the three wolves."
She added that "it was unclear whether she made a mistake or if the path had not been clearly marked." It was mentioned that "responders arrived at the scene very quickly and separated the wolves." A source indicated that "the woman must have breached security systems, a trench, and an electric fence meant to keep the animals inside."
