Death of an Israeli Officer in Gaza Clashes

The Israeli army announced on Saturday evening the death of a captain, who was a company commander in the logistics battalion, during clashes in central Gaza. According to Israeli army radio, a logistics unit entered the outskirts of the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza, aiming to deliver supplies to the forces, when an explosive device detonated, resulting in the officer's death and several injuries. Afterward, several militants emerged and opened fire at the troops before withdrawing from the area. Israeli media reported that the number of Israeli military fatalities has risen to 690 since October 7.
