The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation announced that "as part of the security measures implemented by the military institution in various areas, two army units, each supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, detained 67 individuals as follows:
- Two citizens (Y.B.) and (M.M.) and the Syrian (S.H.) in the area of Dier Ammar - North for leading three illegal buses used for smuggling Syrians.
- 34 Syrians were arrested in the Dier Ammar area - North for entering Lebanese territory illegally.
- Raids on tents of Syrian refugees in the town of Arsal - Bekaa resulted in the detention of 30 individuals for entering Lebanese territory illegally.
Additionally, a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence in the Mataba - Hermel area arrested the Syrian (B.M.) for belonging to a drug trafficking gang led by the wanted (A.Z.), known as (Abu Salla). The detainee is wanted for illegally entering Lebanese territory and for participating in firing at an army patrol in the Shraouna neighborhood on June 3, 2022, which resulted in the martyrdom of one soldier.
The detainees were handed over, and investigations began under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
