Baqeri Kani: We Do Not Advise Israel to Fall from the Quagmire in Gaza to the Lebanese Well

Iran's acting Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani confirmed that "his country is committed to using its power to create deterrence against Israel amid the unstable conditions in the region", revealing "Iran's movement in the event of war with Lebanon". In an interview with Turkish CNN during his current visit to Turkey, he stated that "the Zionist entity destabilizes the region and the Zionists know that when the stability and security of the region are threatened, Iran wisely uses its power to discipline the entity and restore regional stability".

Baqeri Kani pointed out that "the crimes and genocide committed by the Zionists in Gaza are among the most painful realities of our time", explaining that "all governments must strive to stop the crimes and genocide committed by the Zionists in Gaza. The Islamic countries, especially the eight developing Islamic countries, have very serious responsibilities in this sensitive period".

Regarding the anticipated situation with the escalation of confrontations between Israel and Hezbollah, Baqeri challenged Israel, saying: "They should not forget the defeat in 2006. If they want to fall from the quagmire in Gaza to the Lebanese well, we do not advise them to do so".

When asked about what support Iran would provide in the event of war in northern Israel, Baqeri replied: "We have always supported the axis of resistance against the harassment, crimes, and attempts by the Zionists. We will continue to support it from now on. It is the duty of every free and every Muslim individual and every Islamic state to support the oppressed Palestinian people against the occupying Zionists".

He added: "If you look at history a few years ago, you will see the situation of the Zionists and their defeat in the 33-day war (July War 2006), in which they were compelled to withdraw from southern Lebanon. We never advise the Zionists to revisit the heavy defeat they suffered against the axis of resistance back then, and if the Zionists want to fall from the quagmire of Gaza into the Lebanese well, we do not advise them to do that".
