"Islamic Resistance in Iraq" Announces Targeting Vital Site in Eilat

The "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" announced early Wednesday morning its targeting of a vital site in Eilat, southern Israel, using a drone. In a statement, the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" said: "Continuing our approach in resisting occupation, supporting our people in Gaza, and in response to the massacres committed by the usurping entity against Palestinian civilians including children, women, and the elderly, the fighters of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq targeted a vital site in Umm al-Rashrash 'Eilat' this morning, June 26, 2024, using a drone, and the Islamic Resistance confirms its continuation in bombarding enemy strongholds."

This came after Israeli media reported the sound of sirens in the city of Eilat due to fears of a drone incursion. Israeli news pages published videos documenting the fall of a projectile "in Eilat," along with the sound of sirens and explosions.

"There are no defense systems in Jordan that work, nor America; the Islamic Resistance in #Iraq hits its target in #Eilat and sends a Zulfiqar strike to the Jews," tweeted Dr. Suad Al-Qaisi on June 26, 2024.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Eilat municipality later stated: "Following the alarm heard in Eilat (2:21 AM), security officials in the area reported that a successful interception was made of a target launched towards Eilat which did not cross into the area... You must continue to follow the instructions of the Home Front Command."

On Monday, the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq" announced it had struck a vital target in Haifa in northern Israel using a drone, affirming its "continuation in bombarding enemy strongholds." The day before, it confirmed targeting a "vital site" on the shores of the Dead Sea and another "vital target" in Eilat, southern Israel, using a drone.
