Two Syrians Promote Drugs on Foot in Bourj Hammoud and Are Arrested by Information Unit

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: "As part of the continuous monitoring by the Internal Security Forces to pursue those involved in drug trafficking and distribution operations in various Lebanese regions and to arrest them, information was received by the Information Unit regarding unidentified individuals promoting drugs in the Bourj Hammoud area. Consequently, the specialized units in the division were tasked with conducting field and inquiry actions to uncover the identities of the mentioned dealers and arrest them. As a result of the investigations and inquiries, the unit was able to identify them as Syrians: M.A. (born in 1996) and F.N. (born in 1982).

On August 17, 2023, after meticulous surveillance, one of the unit's patrols managed to arrest them in the act in Bourj Hammoud while they were promoting drugs on foot. They seized a beige motorcycle that they had parked away from the promotion area. Upon searching them, the following items were confiscated: 14 packets containing cocaine net weighing approximately 1.8g each, 7 plastic containers containing base cocaine weighing approximately 4.2g each, a container of cocaine net weighing approximately 5.7g, a packet containing captagon pills, two mobile phones, and an amount of cash.

Furthermore, a search of the second individual's home in the Sad Bouachrieh area yielded: 100 plastic containers containing base cocaine weighing a total of approximately 455g, 3 pieces of hashish weighing a total of approximately 275g, and 9 tramadol pills. Upon investigation, they admitted to the charges related to promoting drugs to several customers on foot in the Bourj Hammoud area. Legal action was taken against them, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the relevant judicial authority, and the motorcycle was legally impounded upon the judiciary's order."
