King Abdullah II of Jordan warned during discussions with Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah about "the dangers of the recent escalation that could lead the region into a state of insecurity and instability," according to the Jordanian news agency Petra. During the talks held at the Al-Balqa Palace today, which addressed current developments, King Abdullah II reiterated the "necessity of intensifying efforts to achieve an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, and unifying Arab efforts to address the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the sector." He emphasized "the importance of finding a political horizon for the Palestinian cause based on a two-state solution that ensures Palestinians receive all their legitimate rights and the establishment of their independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital." The Jordanian monarch praised "Kuwait's wise positions towards Arab issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and its support for the Palestinians and ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability in the region." Both the Jordanian king and the Kuwaiti Emir expressed their pride in the strong historical relations between the two countries and peoples. They stressed the importance of "expanding opportunities for bilateral cooperation in all areas, especially in economic and investment levels."
