The U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon, Liz Johnson, visited the Jeita Grotto on Thursday morning, starting with a tour of the lower and upper grottos by boat and tourist train, inspecting the types of tourism and cultural services offered by the grotto. Johnson expressed her amazement and admiration for this unique natural tourist facility, Lebanon's exceptional environment, and its wonderful natural tourist sites. She hoped that Lebanese officials would "love their country and sacrifice for it, and work to protect its natural wealth." Ambassador Johnson commended the "good technical work by the investing company in protecting this leading tourist site with all its natural formations, which is considered a national treasure attracting tourists from all over the world."
