Israeli media reported on Friday evening that there were severe incidents against Israeli army forces in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death and injury of several Israeli soldiers. The reports indicated that a booby-trapped building collapsed on the soldiers, and two booby-trapped tunnels exploded while troops were inside.
The "Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades," the military wing of Hamas, claimed that its members managed to target an Israeli force fortified inside a house in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City with a "TBG" vacuum bomb, causing casualties among them. The brigades stated that their members monitored the descent of Israeli helicopters to evacuate the troops.
Meanwhile, "Saraya al-Quds," the military wing of Islamic Jihad, announced that it finished off an Israeli force that was lured inside a building containing a tunnel shaft filled with several high-explosive devices. They also mentioned that they repurposed a missile from an Israeli F-16 strike on civilians which did not detonate, and used it against the Israeli force in the al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood.
Additionally, the "Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades" reported targeting an Israeli "Merkava" tank with a "Yassin 105" missile near the Japanese Garden intersection south of the Tal al-Sultan neighborhood in Rafah. It was also stated that their members engaged in fierce clashes at close range with Israeli forces infiltrating the al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood east of Gaza City, confirming that they inflicted casualties among them. The brigades also noted that they targeted an armored personnel carrier with a "Yassin 105" missile in the Brazil neighborhood east of Rafah in southern Gaza.
