Russian Environmental Agency head Svetlana Radionova announced on Tuesday that two people died in explosions at an oil field in western Siberia, which did not lead to an oil spill. She added that laboratory tests would determine whether there was any environmental damage. Russian news agencies reported that two were killed and six others were injured in two explosions on Monday at the Talinskoye oil field in the Khanty-Mansiysk region, which is rich in oil. The local health ministry stated that the six injured individuals are in serious or critical condition and are receiving treatment for burns. The ministry did not confirm any fatalities. Svetlana Radionova wrote on Telegram that there is no oil spill; however, the results of the laboratory tests will determine if there has been any environmental harm. She also noted that Russian investigators are beginning their work at the site.
