The security forces of Egypt's Ministry of Interior revealed the details surrounding a video that circulated on social media showing an individual in Qalyubia attacking another person with a knife, resulting in the victim's death. The perpetrator has been apprehended.
The Ministry of Interior's agencies monitored the circumstances of the video’s circulation, and upon investigation, it was found that on the 11th of this month, authorities in Qalyubia were notified by a hospital about the arrival of a gym worker—residing in the precinct of the Second Police Station in Shubra El-Kheima—who sustained a stab wound to the neck and died while being treated.
The victim's father reported that there was a verbal dispute between the victim and a mechanic—living at the same address—over financial disagreements that escalated into a brawl, during which the mechanic attacked his son with a knife, causing the fatal injury, and then fled the scene.
Following the appropriation of legal measures, on the 12th, security forces succeeded in apprehending the suspect, who guided them to the knife used in the crime. Legal actions have been taken accordingly.
