The Israeli army issued a second statement today, Saturday, regarding its targeting of the "Tawabeen" school in the al-Daraj neighborhood in Gaza City. The Israeli army stated that "according to the intelligence information available to the IDF, the compound targeted at the Tawabeen school is used by senior leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad."
The statement added, "An initial examination by the IDF indicates that the figures released by the Gaza government media office, which is considered a Hamas media arm, are exaggerated and do not align with the information available to the IDF regarding the type of precision munitions used and the accuracy of the targeting."
The statement confirmed that "the IDF will continue to examine the matter and calls on the media to exercise caution with the information published by Hamas."
