Egypt and Belgium: Intensive Cooperation to Avoid Escalation in the Region

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abd El-Aty discussed the developments in the region during a phone call on Saturday with Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Lahbib. Abd El-Aty expressed Egypt's appreciation for Belgium's supportive stance on the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and emphasized the need to inform his Belgian counterpart about Egypt's intensive communications with all active regional and international parties around the clock to avoid regional escalation. The two sides also addressed several areas of cooperation between the two countries, notably migration issues and the repatriation of stolen archaeological artifacts from Egypt.
