The general assembly of Ansar Club elected a new administrative committee led by deputy Nabil Badr by acclamation. This occurred during a meeting held earlier today at the Commodore Hotel in Hamra, comprising two sessions. The first session was ordinary, dedicated to reviewing and approving the financial and administrative reports, chaired by President Nabil Badr, who confirmed the quorum was met, in the presence of Secretary General Nabil Sno and Treasurer Ayman Al-Shami.
After the national anthem and a brief speech from the president, the Secretary General presented the administrative report in the form of a video, followed by the Treasurer reading the financial statement for the previous four years under the outgoing administrative committee. The session chair then called for a vote on the financial and administrative reports, seeking to absolve the outgoing administration's accountability by a show of hands. Both reports were approved, concluding the first ordinary session.
The second session was extraordinary, dedicated to electing a new administrative committee, chaired by the eldest member present, Bassam Al-Houri, with Farah Mansour serving as Secretary General. Al-Houri noted that the Secretariat received 11 nominations according to regulations to fill the 11 seats stipulated in the club's bylaws. Since the number of candidates equaled the number of vacant positions in the new administrative committee, the candidates were declared elected by acclamation: Deputy Nabil Badr, Kamal Tabara, Hani Qantri, Ayman Al-Shami, Qassem Al-Jarrah, Waseem Al-Daouk, Abbas Hassan, Ibrahim Makdash, Nabil Sno, Shafik Taher, and Muhammad Ghaith Saleh.
The newly elected committee held a meeting to distribute positions as follows: Deputy Nabil Badr as club president for a term of four years, Kamal Tabara as vice president, Nabil Sno as secretary, Ayman Al-Shami as treasurer, Qassem Al-Jarrah as accountant, and Ibrahim Makdash, Abbas Hassan, Shafik Taher, Waseem Al-Daouk, Haitham Qantri, and Muhammad Ghaith Saleh as advisory members.
Afterward, Al-Houri proposed to raise the membership fee in the general assembly from 500,000 Lira to 20 million Lira. The proposal was approved by a show of hands.
