In a tragic incident in Al-Gharbia Governorate, Egypt, a husband killed his wife by stabbing her twice in the back while they were sitting in a "reconciliation meeting" after 10 days of separation. This occurred because she refused to return to him.
The incident stems from the couple's separation due to family disputes, as they are residents of the village of Mit Habesh Baharia in the Tanta district of Al-Gharbia. A reconciliation session was organized in an attempt to bring the wife back to the marital home. A verbal altercation erupted between them, leading to the husband unexpectedly pulling a knife from his clothing and stabbing the wife twice in the back, causing her to take her last breath amid the shock of those present.
Security forces arrived at the scene and arrested the husband, who admitted to committing the act. A report was filed, and the criminal investigation department was tasked with investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. The public prosecutor was notified to initiate an investigation, which led to the husband's detention for four days pending inquiries.
