Hezbollah Leader: The Other Face of Wissam Tawil

The military media of the Islamic Resistance distributed a brief on Hezbollah leader Wissam Hassan Tawil, also known as "Haj Jwad," which includes:

- Name: Wissam Hassan Tawil "Haj Jwad"

- Family Status: Married with four children.

- Date of Birth: September 20, 1975, in the village of Kherbet Selm, South Lebanon.

- Joined the ranks of the Islamic Resistance in 1989.

- Underwent various military training courses, progressing to the highest levels of military training.

- Significantly contributed to the establishment and development of the training apparatus in the Islamic Resistance.

- Participated in numerous operations of the Islamic Resistance, especially special operations, prior to the liberation of the south in 2000.

- Took on the task of reconnaissance in the region of Tuffah after the Israeli aggression on Lebanon in April 1996, later assuming deputy responsibility for the same region.

- Sustained severe injuries to his neck while participating in the special operation of Sajd in 1999.

- Participated in special operations targeting Israeli army positions in the occupied Shebaa Farms after the liberation of the south in 2000.

- Took part in the special capture operation (The Honest Promise) in 2006 and during the July War.

- Accompanied and supported many martyr leaders in the Islamic Resistance (Haj Redwan, Sayyed Dhulfiqar, Haj Abu Mohammad, Haj Abu Issa, Haj Hatim Hamada, Haj Ala’a Bosnia, Haj Khaled Bazi, Haj Mohammed Sarour, and others).

- With the onset of the war in Syria, he was among the first to join the fight against terrorist organizations, leading many special operations targeting these groups, contributing to the second liberation.

- Following the launch of the Al-Aqsa Deluge battle on October 7, 2023, he led many special operations targeting Israeli army positions along the Lebanese-Palestinian border in support of the steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza and in support of their brave and honorable resistance.

- Awarded commendation from Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, several times.

- Assassinated by the Israeli enemy on Monday, January 8, 2024, in his village of Kherbet Selm in South Lebanon.
