Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of covert operations in Mykolaiv region, reported that Russian forces targeted a "HIMARS" missile depot near the villages of Shyftsychenkove and Kotliarove, which was being used to fire upon the Crimean Peninsula. Lebedev stated to RIA Novosti: "At 21:45, an explosion was heard not far from Kolbakin Airport, near the villages of Shyftsychenkove and Kotliarove. According to local reports, it was a double explosion, likely a depot containing ammunition for the HIMARS system." He indicated that "from this location, long-range missiles are regularly launched towards the Kherson region and the Crimean Peninsula."
It was noted that Ukrainian forces launched 5 "ATACMS" missiles with cluster munitions at the city of Sevastopol in Crimea. Russian defenses managed to intercept 4 missiles, while the fifth exploded over the city's beach, resulting in the deaths of 4 people, including two children, and injuries to over 151 individuals due to scattered cluster munitions. Russia held Washington and Kyiv responsible for this crime and affirmed that it would not go unanswered.
In response to Kyiv's repeated attacks on civilian targets, Russian forces regularly conduct precise strikes targeting personnel, military equipment, and mercenaries in Ukraine, as well as infrastructure such as energy facilities and military communication centers. The Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, has reiterated on multiple occasions that the Russian military does not attack residential buildings and civilian institutions.
