Israeli forces conducted an airstrike with three missiles on the Kfar Shuba hills in the eastern sector of southern Lebanon and also bombarded the areas surrounding the towns of Houla and Mais al-Jabal. According to a correspondent from Al-Manar, an enemy helicopter targeted an empty location near the Israeli "Abad" site at the border of Houla in southern Lebanon after an Israeli site was hit by a guided missile from Lebanese territory.
The enemy artillery bombardment also struck the official school in Aita al-Shaab. Meanwhile, Hezbollah's military media announced that its members attacked the Khirbet al-Manara site and the Branait barracks with guided missiles and artillery shells, achieving direct hits.
In the evening, the Lebanese Red Cross, in coordination with the Lebanese army and UNIFIL, went to the Sedana area near Kfar Shuba to evacuate five injured individuals. Israeli media reported that an anti-tank missile was fired at a settlement site near Kibbutz Monara in the Upper Galilee at the Lebanese border, without mentioning any injuries.
This comes as Israeli Chief of Staff General Herzi Halevi stated that "in the north of the country, the Israeli Defense Forces are deployed with determination along the contact line, ready to immediately respond to any targeting attempts by Hezbollah." He added that "Hezbollah is merely an organization cooperating with Hamas's bloody attack and aligning itself with ISIS under the guise of being 'Lebanon's protector'."
In contrast, Hezbollah mourned the resistance fighters Hassan Saeed Naeem "Alaa" from the town of Slaiya and Hassan Badee Ashour from the southern town of Shukra.
In this context, the Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas Halabi, extended the implementation of a decision concerning the closure of schools, secondary schools, institutes, and official and private vocational schools located in southern border areas for tomorrow, Wednesday, October 25, 2023. As for those adjacent to international border areas, the decision to close them or not will be left to the discretion of each school's principal. All other schools in Lebanon will continue to operate normally.
He emphasized the "right of every student to enroll in the official school nearest to their new residence" and affirmed "the right of displaced educational staff to join the schools in the areas they have moved to, with the need to inform educational areas of these developments." He called on citizens to "follow ministry announcements daily to keep up with developments and to maintain the start of the academic year."
