Sudanese Minister of Education Mahmoud Sir al-Khatim suddenly passed away on Friday evening in Cairo. The Sudanese minister collapsed unexpectedly inside a hotel in Giza, south of Cairo; upon examination, he was found to be deceased. His body was transferred to the hospital under the supervision of investigative authorities. Sir al-Khatim had arrived in Cairo for medical treatment accompanied by his wife, as he suffered from diabetes. While at the hotel, he fell into a coma and collapsed. According to reports, his wife called the hotel management, who summoned a doctor to examine him. The doctor confirmed his death due to a sudden heart attack. The Sudanese embassy in Cairo was notified, and a necessary report was filed, with the public prosecution taking over the investigation.
