Tourist Recovery During the Holidays... "Fully Booked"

Tourist Recovery During the Holidays...

The Vice President of the Syndicate of Restaurants, Cafes, Nightclubs, and Pastry Shops, Khaled Nuzha, expects a tourism revival during Christmas and New Year's due to the numbers coming from Lebanese expatriates in the Gulf and Europe, as well as tourists, particularly from Jordan, Egypt, and Iraq. He noted that flights arriving in Lebanon are "fully booked," and he anticipates an increase in additional flights, with reservations looking promising. Nuzha stated to "Al-Markaziah" that some Lebanese wishing to return to Lebanon have been unable to find available seats on flights from Canada, London, and Paris. This is especially significant as restaurants and nightclubs prepare to celebrate the holidays, which are considered special and are celebrated by all Lebanese across different sects. It is worth mentioning that this year, Lebanese people will celebrate the holidays following a decrease in the COVID-19 pandemic and the precautionary measures taken by restaurants against cholera by using mineral water to wash vegetables, fruits, and utensils to prevent infection.

He remarked that "the participation of some restaurants in airing World Cup football matches came at the expense of other restaurants that did not secure the subscription, causing them to lose some patrons who preferred restaurants showing the World Cup matches, except for some areas and cafes that organized artistic programs." He considered that "all of this indicates a return to health for the sector that has suffered over the past three years."
