The Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Major General Hossein Salami, sent a message to the Secretary-General of "Hezbollah," Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, stating: "The enemies of the nation, especially the Zionist gang and its supporters, should expect retaliation from the resistance." He added, "The front of truth will achieve a great victory, and the Zionists are waiting for severe revenge."
On Thursday, Nasrallah had stated: "Wait for our response, which will certainly come, to the attack on the southern suburbs and the assassination of Fouad Shukr. There is no discussion or debate; we have the days, nights, and the battlefield ahead of us." Salami's message also conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Nasrallah following Israel's assassination of the leader Fouad Shukr, stating: "There is no doubt that the dear martyr Haj Mohsen represents the essence of the martyrs of Hezbollah's blessed movement in Lebanon and heralds a great victory for the right front and the enemies of the Islamic nation, especially the gang of Zionist criminals."
