Warning from Civil Defense for Beachgoers!

The Civil Defense has warned of the drowning risk due to strong winds, high waves, and water currents. In a statement posted on its account via the X platform, it said: "Due to the high waves witnessed on the Lebanese shore today, combined with the speed of the winds and the active movement of marine currents influenced by the rapid tide changes, the General Directorate of Civil Defense draws the attention of beachgoers to the importance of adhering to public safety guidelines when heading to the sea, especially after the recent increase in drowning incidents. It urges not to hastily rush to rescue those in imminent danger, as this could expose them to drowning risks as well, due to their lack of the necessary experience to intervene in such cases. It also reminds citizens, residents, and tourists to call 125 for assistance when needed."
