The Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf has denied a rumor circulating on social media accounts about the existence of a liquor factory inside a mosque in the Qusoor area, alongside a video claiming this. The promoters of this rumor stated that there is a liquor factory in a waqf property in the Qusoor area, associated with the imam and the muezzin, under the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of Kuwait.
The ministry clarified in a post on "X" that "the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs denies that the property shown in the circulated video belongs to it, as there is no waqf housing for the imam and the muezzin in Qusoor, area 4, and there have been no reports of a liquor factory in a mosque in the Qusoor area."
The rumor gained traction when a video was shared on social media, alleging there was a liquor factory in a waqf property in Qusoor associated with the imam and the muezzin.
