Protesters dissatisfied with deteriorating living conditions and the decline in the value of the lira have blocked roads and clashed with army personnel in several regions of Lebanon.
The National News Agency reported that protesters have cut off roads and clashed with army forces on the international road at the roundabout of Banan - Abdah in Akkar province, using burning tires. The agency added that protesters blocked the eastern lane of the Zouk highway, causing severe traffic congestion and clashes with army personnel who are negotiating to open a lane for vehicle passage.
The agency's correspondent reported that protesters blocked the road in Corniche Al-Mazraa near Abdul Nasser Mosque in both directions with burning tires and waste containers. They also blocked the Sayfiyah road in both directions in front of the Central Kataeb House.
Additionally, the agency's correspondent in Upper Metn stated that protesters blocked the main road in the town of Qarna'il and the international road in the town of Bhamdoun with burning tires, protesting against living conditions and the rising dollar and food prices.
