The Permanent Representative of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League, Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matarr, participated today, Thursday, in Cairo, in a meeting of the Senior Officials Committee for the Arab-Russian Forum to prepare for the sixth ministerial session of the forum scheduled to be held in Marrakech, Morocco, next Wednesday. The meeting was co-chaired by the acting permanent representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Arab League, Minister Plenipotentiary Hicham Bou Selai, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Egypt, Georgy Borisienko, and the Assistant Secretary-General, Head of the International Political Affairs Sector at the Arab League, Khaled bin Mohammed Manzlawy, with the attendance of the permanent representatives to the Arab League.
Manzlawy clarified that this meeting comes after consultations between the presidency (the Kingdom of Morocco) and the General Secretariat of the Arab League, to discuss arrangements for holding the sixth session of the Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum at the ministerial level, as well as to agree on the final formats of the draft documents to be issued from that session, namely the "Final Statement" and the "Action Plan for Implementing the Principles and Objectives of the Arab-Russian Cooperation Forum during the period 2024 - 2026." He pointed to the importance of this forum "given the weight of the Russian role and its supportive positions on many Arab issues in international organizations," as well as to explore the strengthening of Arab-Russian relations in economic and cultural fields.
