Warnings from FC Barcelona to Its Fans Before Traveling to Saudi Arabia

FC Barcelona has issued instructions to its fans before traveling to Saudi Arabia to attend the matches of the Spanish Supercup. According to the Spanish newspaper "AS," the instructions recommend showing "respect and wisdom in public behavior, avoiding inappropriate behavior, and any act of a sexual nature that may have legal consequences for foreigners."

The club also addressed the LGBTQ+ community, stating that "same-sex relationships and expressing support for the LGBTQ+ community, even on social media, could also lead to penalties." The Catalan club warned fans against alcoholic beverages, drugs, and foods made from pork, which are prohibited in Saudi Arabia, and encouraged the audience to "respect customs and avoid public gatherings, especially religious events."

The Spanish newspaper highlighted that the club clarified to its fans who wish to travel to Saudi Arabia for the matches that "demonstrations, marches, or any other activities deemed illegal by the government are prohibited, as they undermine social peace."

The instructions also included "warnings about terrorism," stating that "regarding terrorism... Saudi Arabia and citizens of Western countries, including Spain, are potential targets for terrorist organizations operating within the country and in neighboring states."

It is worth mentioning that Saudi Arabia is hosting the tournament for the fourth time since its transition to a new format, featuring four teams instead of a match between the cup and league champions.
