Ladies, keep your perfume as much as you can, put it in a drawer and seal it tightly... only release it when it's time for celebrations and important occasions, because buying another one will not be easy, and we're not just talking about the price but also its availability. Perfumes in Lebanon have also been toppled by the domino effect of the collapse, becoming a thing of the past for many, except for those who can afford to pay for them. Prices are naturally in dollars, while the priorities of the Lebanese are crowded with long lists of food, drink, electricity bills, healthcare, education, and transportation costs.
Recently, due to a significant drop in demand for perfumes, perfumery owners have suffered huge losses, as perfumes are piling up with no buyers! This has prompted many owners to adopt a new policy: "We only bring in what's ordered." If you inquire about a perfume, you won’t find it; you ask about the second, third, fourth, and tenth—still nothing. The answer is the same: we will try to secure the perfume you want, but after a week and after paying for it in advance.
Strangely, there has also been a disappearance of what is known as testers from these shops. This means that if you want to buy a gift for someone or change your favorite perfume, you won't be able to smell it from those small bottles; instead, you'll have to smell the fragrance first on someone else, or “it’s up to your luck!”
The aforementioned situation has led to the spread of many counterfeit perfumes in the market. You can find pages on social media marketing certain types at half the price, with exaggerated offers, like receiving a free third perfume when you buy any two bottles of well-known global brands.
So, do not fall into the traps of these offers, and don’t believe everything that is presented and said to you. Try to endure this dark phase with the least possible financial damage... for perfume has become a luxury, just like many other things that some have had to forego due to the corruption of the thieves of this country, who have truly “revealed their scent.”
