King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has approved the holding of an Islamic conference titled "Communication with Religious Affairs, Fatwas, and Sheikhs around the World and Similar Entities," organized by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Da'wah, and Guidance in Mecca during the period from the 26th to the 27th of this month. The conference will feature 150 scholars and muftis representing 85 countries, including muftis, heads of Islamic associations, sheikhs, thinkers, and academics from various global universities. They will discuss issues of moderation, extremism, dissolution, terrorism, tolerance, and coexistence among peoples in seven working sessions over two days.
The conference aims to enhance communication and integration between religious affairs, fatwa, and sheikh departments worldwide to achieve the principles of moderation and promote values of tolerance and coexistence among peoples. It will highlight the necessity of adhering to the Holy Qur'an and the Prophetic Sunnah, serve Islam and Muslims, strengthen Islamic unity among Muslims, combat extremist ideas, protect societies from atheism and dissolution, and showcase the Kingdom's unique experience in calling to Allah and spreading principles of mercy while upholding values alongside development and progress in various fields to build society.
The conference will cover seven main axes:
1. The efforts of religious affairs, fatwa, and sheikh departments worldwide in serving Islam and Muslims and enhancing Islamic unity.
2. The communication and integration between their current reality and aspirations.
3. Their efforts in promoting values of tolerance and coexistence among peoples.
4. Adhering to the Qur'an and the Prophetic Sunnah as a foundation and effort.
5. Moderation and balance in the Qur'an and the Prophetic Sunnah as a foundation and effort.
6. The efforts of religious affairs, fatwa, and sheikh departments worldwide in combating extremism and terrorism.
7. Their efforts in protecting society from atheism and dissolution.
The organization of this conference is part of the Ministry's efforts to promote the approach of moderation and balance through constructive cooperation with global religious leaders, aiming to contribute to reducing violence and feelings of hatred among the world's peoples.
