The media office of the Ministry of Public Health stated that "there are reports circulating that the Ministry of Health does not cover the expenses of some of the victims of Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon." In a statement, it expressed deep surprise at the dissemination of "such incorrect and misleading information at a time when Lebanon is going through a very difficult circumstance, requiring media outlets to act responsibly and accurately in reporting news and, at the very least, to verify what is rumored from the relevant authorities."
The office reminded that Minister Firas Al-Abyad has confirmed on multiple occasions the coverage of the wounded without any exceptions, based on a decision made by the Lebanese government which approved a financial allocation for this purpose. The decision is being implemented literally in an institutional manner where there is no room for any favoritism, applying the principles of fairness and the right to receive correct and effective medical services for all who need them.
It added, "Any interested party can verify the implementation of this decision by consulting the concerned authorities in the ministry as well as various hospitals to which the victims of the aggression are transferred, and to stop spreading random news that creates confusion without merit and exacerbates the wounds and suffering."
