Khadisha Electricity Company strongly condemned "the incident that affected Abdullah Karim, who works as a collector for Khadisha." They stated that "this incident is a serious precedent, and Khadisha calls on the security forces to investigate, reveal the perpetrators, and impose the strictest penalties on the attackers to prevent such actions from recurring, noting that Khadisha carries out its duties under very difficult circumstances to meet citizens' needs."
In a statement, they confirmed that "despite all difficulties, Khadisha will continue to serve all citizens and work on improving this public service." Workers, employees, and collectors of Khadisha Electricity held a sit-in in front of the company's management center in the port, with the participation of Shadi El Sayyed, head of the Union of Labor and Employee Unions in the North, in solidarity with collector Abdullah Karim, who was attacked and robbed by unknown assailants while performing his duties in the area of Dhahr al-Ain yesterday.
Initially, El Sayyed pointed out that "Karim was not only subjected to theft but also attempted murder, and similar incidents have recurred recently, as another collector was previously attacked in a similar manner." He questioned "the role of security forces and the state of lawlessness in the country, which has seen an increase in robberies, murders, and assaults in various locations."
He wondered, "Why is the authority of security forces not enforced everywhere?" He called for the Information Branch, "known for swiftly pursuing various crimes and uncovering them," to work on revealing the facts of what happened and restoring rights to their owners while imposing penalties on the culprits.
Then, Fadi Jbour, head of the company's workers and employees union, expressed surprise at the occurrence of such incidents in broad daylight, noting that "collector Abdullah Karim was subjected to an unfortunate attack, and this requires full mobilization of various agencies as such matters reflect rampant chaos in the country."
He highlighted that "the intervention of local residents prevented a disaster and spared Karim worse outcomes, beyond the robbery." He confirmed "the union's denunciation of what happened" and urged security forces to "immediately reveal what took place," indicating that "what happened to Karim has caused him a psychological crisis, impacting all collectors and employees within the company."
