Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah chaired a meeting alongside the Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, and the European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell. This ministerial meeting aimed at discussing efforts to revive the peace process in the Middle East took place during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The meeting was attended by representatives from approximately 70 countries and international organizations, with about 50 speakers from different parts of the world. They discussed mechanisms for coordinating joint efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East and the formation of political, economic, and humanitarian working groups to explore practical steps and incentives that could encourage the revival of the Arab peace process.

In this context, the Saudi Foreign Minister stated in a televised interview: "We coordinated fully with our brothers in Palestine to ensure that their priorities and positions are reflected in the proceedings and outcomes of this meeting to activate peace efforts." He continued: "We seek to bring the two-state solution back to the forefront... there is no way to resolve the Palestine-Israel conflict except through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state." He added that "solving the Palestinian issue supports stability in the region and the world," emphasizing that the solution must be based on the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international references. He stressed the necessity of "reviving hope to alleviate the worsening humanitarian crisis faced by Palestine."
