Israel announced on Thursday that it has begun taking punitive measures against Norway following the opinion submitted to the International Criminal Court, which stated that the "Oslo Accords" do not affect the court's jurisdiction over crimes committed against the Palestinian people, and that the court can issue arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant. These measures are also related to Norway's recognition of the state of Palestine. Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated: "Israel will not allow eight Norwegian diplomats at the Norwegian embassy in Tel Aviv to continue working as representatives of Norway to the Palestinian Authority, as their work has only been limited to diplomatic communication with the Palestinian Authority."
