Israeli Airstrike on West Bank Camp Results in 4 Deaths

The Palestinian Health Ministry stated that at least four individuals were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Nur Shams refugee camp in the West Bank. The Israeli army said in a statement that "an aircraft targeted a terrorist cell in the Nur Shams area while it was planting an explosive device." According to the Palestinian news agency, a massive explosion was heard in the city of Tulkarem after an Israeli drone fired a missile at the Al-Batakah neighborhood in the center of the Nur Shams camp. Palestinian media also confirmed the deaths of five Palestinians, including three children, in an Israeli bombardment in the Al-Zarqa neighborhood south of Gaza City. Israeli forces targeted several areas in southern Gaza on Tuesday, prompting thousands of Palestinians to flee their homes. Health sector officials reported today that eight Palestinians were killed and dozens were injured, while the Israeli army stated that two of its soldiers were killed in a clash on Monday. Israeli leaders have indicated that forces are nearing the end of intense combat operations with Hamas and will soon shift to more targeted operations. Paramedics reported that 17 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday when an Israeli tank shelled a street in the densely populated Al-Zeitoun neighborhood in the city of Gaza in the northern sector. The Israeli army had ordered residents of several towns and villages east of Khan Younis to evacuate their homes on Monday before tanks returned to the area from which they had withdrawn weeks earlier.
